We are delighted to announce the second and third workshops in the series “Writing Mixed-Race into Critical Race Discourse,” a project funded by the British Academy.

Our aim is to create a space for dialogue and experimentation, exploring how processes of racialisation can be approached through creative writing, artistic interventions and collective narratives. Inspired by Black and decolonial feminisms, we seek to challenge dominant narratives and imagine alternative futures.

We invite early-career researchers, postgraduates, artists and activists based in South Africa to apply. Participants’ work should engage with Black feminisms, multiple ethno-racial identities and decolonial perspectives, with a commitment to anti-racism and intersectionality.
